Market producers and co-producers

Katy Brown Solsky, market founder and producer

Picture
Katy was born in NH but grew up on the West Coast.  After returning to NH with the plan to attend law school she realized that a commitment to the practice of law meant giving up her creative life - a compromise she just wasn't willing to make. Instead, she became immersed in her creative work and in the regional community of artisans and fine artists who travel to bring their handmade wares to public marketplaces. After a stint as on-site manager of the SOWA Open Market in Boston, she wondered "Why, every week, do I find myself surrounded by artisans leaving NH each weekend to sell what they make out of state? Why is there no venue like this in our home state?".

And so...an arts market was born.

Katy was chosen as a member of the 2010 Class of the Top 40 Under 40 in NH, by NH BIA and the Union Leader.

Scott Solsky, music coordinator

Picture
Scott is a professional working musician and music educator.  He is currently the music program coordinator at the Shaker Road School in Concord, NH. Scott brings enthusiasm, experience and skill to our market team. His goal is to take the market's music offerings further and make the performance aspect of the market stronger.

Scott is also the Executive Director of Granite State Music Festival. The festival brings some of the best of NH's musical talent together with a national act, for a festival experience in the capital city. Concord Arts Market teams up with the festival and is held at the music festival site on that weekend.

Scott can be seen performing regularly in venues across the region with Bräsbe. Their first full-length album, "Free Form Display" is currently available for purchase at CD Baby.

Kimberly Beers, co-producer

Kim Beers produces special events for us here at the market.  She seamlessly coordinated the market's first Pet Day in 2009, the astoundingly successful Pet Day 2011 (which featured over 20 pet-themed participants in addition to our artisan vendors, and the first ever election of a canine mayor for our city) as well as the ultra fun Pet Day 2012. Her love of animals and deep network within the animal rescue and wellness communities make her a perfect collaborator for the market. Animal welfare and wellness is an important issue for the market - after all, so many of our visitors have four legs!

Kim is also the owner of Woof Purr, creating safer, more earth-friendly toys for your furry companions. You can find her toys at many local outlets and pet destinations in the greater Concord area, as well as at her website.
